College Sports Marketing Veteran Launches Taymar Sales U.

New venture brings senior-level counsel and a new hands-on approach to college sports ticket sales and attendance

Mark Dyer, who has decades of experience building and managing successful ventures in college sports marketing, is launching a new company named Taymar Sales U. providing more personal, senior-level counsel to college athletic departments looking to improve ticket sales and attendance.

Taymar Sales U. provides comprehensive ticket sales and attendance management services to collegiate athletic departments, and provides customized support programs for schools that wish to maintain full control over those services. Taymar Sales U. is a subsidiary of Taymar Ventures, which is wholly owned by Dyer.

“I have spent most of my career creating revenue for college athletic departments and feel strongly that the ticket sales management market needs a new approach,” said Dyer. “The challenge of ticket sales and attendance in college sports is one of the biggest issues facing athletics departments and the reception to this new model is very positive.”

Dyer’s Taymar Ventures has been managing ticket sales for the University of Kentucky since 2018, and Taymar Sales U. will launch a new multi-year outbound ticket sales management contract with Georgia State.

“Our work with Kentucky has shown that there is a market for schools looking for more personal, senior-level counsel and a larger share of their ticket revenue,” said Dyer. “We are now in a position for expansion and we are thrilled to be selected by Georgia State to handle their ticket sales management responsibilities.”

“We are excited to partner with Taymar Sales U. in our quest to improve tickets sales for Georgia State athletics events,” said Georgia State AD Charlie Cobb. “Mark Dyer is very respected in our industry and we look forward to positive results from this partnership. Most importantly, we think our current and future fans will benefit the most.”

“Mark and his team have been essential to our efforts as we have adjusted to the changing market of ticket sales in college athletics,” said Jason Schlafer, Chief Revenue Officer at University of Kentucky. “They have proven to be innovative partners who have brought an important personal touch to the way we connect with our fans and communicate to them the importance of their support. We look forward to our continued work with Taymar Sales U.”

Dyer is a pioneer in the industries of college sports licensing, marketing and ticket sales. He was part of the executive team that spearheaded IMG’s entry into college sports that eventually led to a merger with Learfield creating the largest college sports marketing company in the world. Prior to his role at IMG, he drove record revenue growth in senior management roles with NASCAR and Host Communications.

“I have spent thirty years learning from, and working alongside, many notable entrepreneurs in the sports industry,” said Dyer. “Taymar Sales U. is a homage to those great entrepreneurs and is founded on the belief that there is no better experience than attending a sporting event on a college campus.”
